报告主题:Intelligent Wireless Transmission for Advanced Internet of Things: Data-Oriented Session-Specific Design for Trustworthy URLLC Support

报告摘要:Wireless communication systems will play an essential role for future Internet of Things (IoT). Various IoT applications generate data of variable sizes and dramatically different quality of service requirements. In this talk, we present an innovative data-oriented session-specific (DOSS) approach for the design and analysis of wireless transmission systems to effectively and efficiently support ultra-reliable low-latency communications (URLLC) services. After discussing novel performance metrics for joint reliability and latency characterizations, we present a deep reinforcement learning (DRL)-based design solution for URLLC support and demonstrate DOSS design approach as an important step toward future intelligent wireless transceiver.

报告人简介:Prof. Hong-Chuan Yang received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA, in 2003. Dr. Yang is a professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Victoria, Victoria, Canada. From 1995 to 1998, Dr. Yang was a Research Associate at the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), Beijing, China. His current research focuses on the design and analysis of intelligent wireless transmission systems for advanced cyber-physical systems. Dr. Yang has published over 270 referred journal and conference papers. He is the author of Introduction of Digital Wireless Communications by IET press and the co-author of Advanced Wireless Transmission Technologies by Cambridge University Press. He is a registered professional engineer (P. Eng.) in British Columbia, Canada.
